F.A.C.T.S. Leaders are citizen ambassadors, civic leaders and community stewards.

This program is designed to: 

1. Provide an avenue for residents to help plan the community's future.
2. Spark an interest in local issues.
3. Present information about important questions facing the City.
4. Develop a pool of informed residents willing to serve as local leaders on boards, commissions and among their neighbors. 

In addition to guest speakers, class sessions feature group discussions, activities, field trips and other topic-related exercises. During the course of the leadership program, participants interact with members of City Council, City staff, local business leaders, neighbors and community members. Participants learn how local government works, how decisions are made, and develop their leadership skills via on-site exercises, practice presentations and peer-to-peer networking. 

Participants who complete the leadership program are recognized by City Council at a graduation ceremony and are considered for future committee appointments and leadership opportunities. Anyone who lives or works in the City of Fulshear area is welcome to attend, however most Fulshear committees require residency in the City limits in order to qualify for appointment.

To graduate, participants are required to complete the following activities:

• Attend five of the 7 class sessions
• Participate in a class service project
• Attend one City Council meeting 
• Attend one City Commission meeting

By participating in this program, residents learn how local government works. Participants learn how the City of Fulshear makes decisions and prioritizes projects; and how residents can participate in the future planning and growth of their local community.

Session 1 - Orientation Check-In & Brief Overview of the City

Pick up all your supplies for class, register, participate in a team building exercise and hear from the City Manager's office a brief overview of the City.

Session 2– Inside Fulshear
Monday, Jan. 27, 6-8 p.m., City Hall

Finance, including revenue collection, budget planning and cost of services .

Human Resources and why their services are important to the City and the community 

Session 3 –Infrastructure, Operations & Maintenance
Monday, Feb. 3, 6-8 p.m. Irene Stern Community Center

A look at public works, parks and recreation, the capital improvement projects, streets and more!

Begin to develop your project plan. 

Session 4 –  Utilities
Monday, Feb. 10, 6-8 p.m., City Hall

Learn about the City's water resources and how we are planning for the future. 

Session 5 – Information Technology and Planning
Monday, Feb. 17, 6-8 p.m., City Hall

Learn about the City's planning process to better understand how the City develops and grows; and how IT plays a crucial role throughout.

Session 6 –Public Safety
Monday, Feb. 24, 6-8 p.m., City Hall

A look at public safety and how the court operates.

Session 7 -Keeping the curtain pulled back. 
Monday, March 3, 6-8 p.m., City Hall

Focusing on transparency and communication and an overview of growth happening in the City and the impact.
