Some general concerns include:

• displaced wildlife, snakes, and insects (like fire ants)
• risk of electrical shock (power lines hidden in debris/sediment, electrical appliances, home electrical systems)
• compromised water well and septic systems (for those NOT on City water/wastewater systems)
• personal health and safety including necessary protective equipment and potentially vaccinations for working in and around flood water
• counseling resources to help deal with the natural stresses of being in a disaster situation

PLEASE BE AWARE THAT THERE IS A POSSIBLITY OF MISSING MANHOLE COVERS AND INLET GRATES THROUGHOUT FLOODED AREAS. PLEASE REPORT THESE TO THE CITY AT (281) 346-1796 ASAP AND WE WILL ADDRESS.

Fort Bend County is working to establish a website with volunteer and donation information for what will undoubtedly be a longer-term ongoing operation across the county. We will be sure to include this information in our resource page as it becomes available. More information will also be forthcoming regarding filing for assistance from various agencies.
