Paid Time Off
- Thirteen (13) paid holidays per year.
- 120 hours of sick leave hours per year, accrued.
- Three (3) days personal leave
- One (1) floating day
- Employees accrue paid vacation on a calendar year basis starting your first pay period.
- Up to two (2) weeks paid vacation in year one (1) through five (5)
- Three (3) weeks paid vacation after five (5) years of service.

The medical carrier for 2024 plan year is Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas. You can elect to enroll in either the PPO plan, a traditional health plan with copayments, coinsurance and deductibles or the High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) with the Health Savings Account (HSA), a deductible/coinsurance plan with no copays, it is still a PPO plan. In addition to your deductions, The City will contribute $1,723 to your account annually. The City pays 100% of employee coverage and 25% of dependent coverage for medical insurance.
The City provides dental, Vision, Life and Disability through MetLife.
Employee Assistance Programs
Our Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is available to you in addition to the benefits provided with your MetLife insurance coverage. The program’s experienced counselors provided through TELUS Health — one of the nation’s premier providers of Employee Assistance Program services — can talk to you about anything going on in your life. Your program includes up to 5 phone or video consultations with licensed counselors for you and your eligible household members per year. Retirement Plans
The City of Fulshear offers a retirement plan through the Texas Municipal Retirement System. In addition to TMRS retirement, 457B plans are available. The purpose of these plans is to allow an employee to set aside a portion of his/her salary and receive its value at retirement.
Additional Benefits
- Up to six (6) weeks of Paid Parental Leave (PPL) to employees following the birth of an employee’s child or the placement of a child with an employee in connection with adoption or foster care.
- Membership and paid dues for participation in professional association(s) relevant to the position.
- Tuition reimbursement for continuing education, with service commitment requirements.
